During the December 2014 flood crisis which struck Kelantan, KHOM volunteers (coming from the Pusat Tuisyen Akademik Karisma alumni) gathered for their first ever on-the-ground mission to send humanitarian assistance to flood victims located at the worst affected areas of Kelantan.
A 16-vehicle convoy which included:
- 3 x 3-tonne army trucks
- 1 x 6-wheel lorry
- 12 four-wheel drive vehicles
loaded with humanitarian aid and supplies was delivered to the most vulnerable victims in areas of Kuala Krai and Gua Musang under the “Restoring Hope” Flood Mission.
At that time KHOM known as the Karisma Outreach Mission (KHOM) volunteers worked hand-in-hand with the Veteran Commandoes of Malaysia and was assisted by the Malaysian Armed Forces which provided 3 army trucks full of provisions.
Two subsequent missions were carried out to ensure the affected families would be able to slowly stabilize and adapt to their new life post-disaster.
